Dr. Tony Ramirez is a board-certified family medicine physician and remains as compassionate and empathetic as he was on his first day of medical school. He was trained at the University of Arizona where he also received his bachelor's degree in Biochemistry with honors. He is bilingual in Spanish and has been in practice for nine years. The doctor previously worked at a thriving Community Health Center where he not only saw patients but also played an integral role in successfully implementing their electronic medical record. Furthermore, his passion of electronic health records led him to start his own company that developed and now markets a personal health record.
Dr. Ramirez is also a clinical assistant professor for the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and loves teaching. In addition to his interests in compassionate, patient centered medicine, teaching, and electronic health records, Dr. Ramirez has also worked meticulously to help diabetics with compliance and to help smokers quit smoking. He diligently believes patients are central to their medical care. He has also expressed great interest in immigrant and border health topics. Dr. Ramirez is a proud father of four and enjoys time with his children, fitness training, and reading non-fiction when he is away from clinic.
Dr. Ramirez is very pleased to be the physician for the new Walk-in Clinic at Benson Hospital. Throughout his career in medicine, Dr. Ramirez has always welcomed the rewards and challenges of a medical practice and is happy to be a part of a new clinic. The doctor remains impressed by the hospital administration's sincere and thorough commitment to the patients of Benson by providing them a modern, patient-centered medical clinic. The decision to join was easily made after Benson Hospital demonstrated their shared understanding of the benefits of using modern technology and realization that a patient remains at the center of any truly successful clinic. Dr. Ramirez' hope is to utilize his knowledge, skills, and abilities to expand the current and future delivery of health services to the population of this great Benson
and surrounding community.
